Hello world!

Phase 1 of the State House Food Garden project–the Crescent Garden–was approved by the Capitol Complex Commission on April 20! As far as we know, this will be the first food garden on a State House property in the US.

Special thanks to State House Curator David Schutz, Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services Commissioner Gerry Myers, and the Capitol Complex Commission for supporting this project. We have also received support from Tom Stearns at High Mowing Organic Seeds (all seeds donated for the project!), the Center for an Agricultural Economy, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, NOFA-VT, Montpelier High School, and Food Works at Two River Center.

Stay tuned as we announce information about the first spring planting!
